    Hi all,

I’m looking for a best practice for the following:

    I have 3 domains:
    www.websiteX.com (webhosting)
www.websiteY.com (no hosting, only domainformardservice to www.websiteX.com)
www.websiteZ.com (no hosting, only domainformardservice to www.websiteX.com)

I want to install modx Revolution on websiteX, and manage 3 websites under the same modx installation.

How is this best done, do I need to install an add-on or is this featured in Revolution?

    Regards,
    mDesign

          Hi,

I think that can be done by htaccess on the y or z domain. check eg here!

Because those domains probably are not accessible for you (I guess) you might want to ask your hosting company to do it for you.

This doesn’t make much sense - you want to forward website Y or Z to website X, but you want all three sites to be managed in MODx? How would that be possible if Y/Z just forward to X - that’d just be one site.

If what you really want is 3 separate websites managed by a single MODx installation, you want contexts: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Contexts.

If the sites are related, I’d recommend using a gateway plugin and 1 MODx installation. If the sites are unrelated, I’d recommend using one MODx core and 3 front-ends - you’ll need the "Advanced" distribution of MODx to do the latter.

tkfm has provided the links to implement these.

Yes this is what I meant, I’m sorry for nothing being clear. I’ll give a look at all the posts above, thanks all so far, you’re great!

Guys, as I’m not yet used to the new interface I choose to install the latest Evolution version. For my next project I’ll keep this post in mind. Thnx again for the heads up smiley
