Form Customization seems cumbersome

I want to hide a bunch of fields, rename some tabs, and am finding it terribly cumbersome. Is there a way to make this faster?

I liked the way managermanager had the ability to be edited through as a chunk. While I’m assuming that this way is more powerful, I can’t believe that every field change needs two entries in the rules. It seems like a terribly slow way of customizing the interface. There should be the option at least to use a comma delimited array of names.

At least there is a way to edit this through the database, but it’s not ideal. I hope there’s something I’m either missing or coming soon to make this less repetitive.

Also I wasn’t able to find any in depth documentation for the various fields under rule.
Is there a list somewhere of the containing panels, names etc. I feel like I’m restricted to the ones mentioned here http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Form+Customization+Rules

I get it now ...

I didn’t realize right away that this is just a DOM trick. All the fields are being changed/hidden through a js call. So if you have somthing like firebug running, you’ll notice that all the fields are still accessible. Additionally, all the fields and containers are listed there, just view the source.
