Login snippet strange actions

I have been trying the login snippet package and noticed that if I try sign in as a webuser while logged in the admin area, you are limited to what you can do in the admin. I can still use the menu and features but I cannot edit pages, it just appears blank. Why is the login system linked to admins like that? I’m not quite understanding how this works.

The manager says I am signed in with my default account and I have tried signing in to the site using a different username that is setup to be a webuser only.

If you’re using the same browser to be two different users, MODx can get confused. If you want see the site as another user sees it, it’s best to use another browser altogether.

Hello Bob, yeah I guessed that but many of us still do testing and manager functions in the one browser using multiple tabs. This was never an issue in Evo but I do understand why it would do that. Just wondered if it was known and is it likely to be fixed or is it just the way things are?

I doubt if it will change any time soon, though I don’t really know.

When you are logged in to the manager, aren’t you
already logged in to the website?

If I am in the manager and go to my site,
and look at a blog post, my data are already
loaded in the Quip comment form, so Revo already knows,
via the browser, who I am.

As a matter of fact, when testing login and register, I have
to logout of the manager to login as another user to avoid
"confusing" MODx.

Quite possibly, I guess I have a lot of reading up to do on the permission system on REV... it took long enough to understand EVO!
