Problem with character encoding

Hi

I have a problem with character encoding. All texts are stored as UTF-8 in the database instead of latin-1/iso-8859-1.

I started with a clean install of Revo 2.0.3-pl and had a database set up with latin1-swedish-ci as collation. This collation was recognised during the setup.
I have set the system settings like this:
cultureKey = sv
manager_lang_attribute = en
manager_language = en
modx_charset = iso-8859-1

My problem is that all texts in my contents (resources and elements) are stored in the db as utf8 and not as iso-8859-1.

My site is in Swedish and i don’t want to use utf8.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

What is the actual collation set on your database as well as the tables in the database? MODx creates the tables with the collation of the database container during setup. Make sure if you create the database outside of setup that you set the collation to the appropriate value.

I have now double-checked the collation in phpMyAdmin.

The collation is latin1_swedish_ci for the database, all tables and the fields in the tables.

This may be a bug then, and you may want to report it at http://bugs.modx.com/; tbh, I test everything with UTF8, and I strongly recommend using UTF8 with MODx Revolution.
