Help with Form Customization to display/hide TVs based on the value of other TV

Hi all,

I’m trying to use a TV value to determine whether or not another TV should be viewable/editable on the same resource. I’m trying to do this width a From Customization Rule.

My rule currently looks like this:

Action: core - resource/create
User Group: Editor
Description: Show this when pageType = sectionFront

Name: pageMainArt
Containing Panel: TV Tab
Rule: Field Visible
Value: 1

Constraint Class: modTemplateVar
Constraint Field: pageType
Constraint: sectionFront

I have also tried a Value of 0. And I also created a version with core-resource/update

I can’t get it to "disappear" when I change the pageType value. I’m not sure if my Constraints are wrong or if I’m just trying to do something Revo doesn’t do. Any guidance is appreciated.

Revo does not allow for Constraints via TV variables at this time.

Technically, do you think it’s something that could be added?

It’d be pretty difficult to do, as you’d need to join a few tables, and since FC rules are pretty generic (not specifically-related to Resource forms), it gets really complex. So, no, it wouldn’t be simple. Possible? Maybe, sure, anything’s possible. But easy? No.
