File Browser Permissions

I’m trying to give access so that an ACL for a content editor will have the ability to create and delete folders and upload and delete files in the MODx Browser. Can anyone tell me what permissions I need to grant?

Hi Crawford,
i’m not sure, but going through the administrator policy included in modx i’d pick these as being important for the process:
(directory_chmod)
directory_create
directory_list
directory_remove
file_* (anything with file)

a good option is the duplicate the admin policy and just remove from that everything you don’t need.

Thanks Marc, the directory permissions worked great but I’m still having a problem with the files. I can upload a file it seems smaller than 2mb but nothing larger. I have the file upload setting to 10mb. Is there another spot I’m missing. And the other thing is that I get a permission denied error whenever I try to remove a file. I have all the available file permissions added to the ACL.

You will have to adjust your php.ini to set the upload_max_filesize to be bigger than 2MB.

Thanks Shaun. Is it possible to set this on a shared server or do I need to contact support to have them change it?

If you can’t edit the php.ini, then contact them.

Thanks for this tip but note this should go into a new php.ini file in the root of the site not into .htaccess (it brought down the site . I had tech support add the php.ini for me.

My problem still exists and I can’t figure out why. There must be a setting I am missing. I’ve attached a screen shot that shows the upload says OK but the image never makes it into the folder. There’s no message saying why. Files under 2mb work fine.

Any other ideas?

Ok guys, I found the issue. It was with the max upload size as was suggested. Adding the parameter to the php.ini for the domain worked great. Thanks for the help to get this resolved, I would have had no idea where to even look.
