Page generation time 10-50 SEC. from DB and 1-3 sec. from cache - what's wrong?

Hi, I’m very impressed with MODx Revo features and flexibility.
I created cool web site for short time and was happy with it until I noticed slow page loading.
Or rather, very long page generation time.

There is only blog functional on the site, even without commenting feature,
only one user
and each block on side panels - it’s separate modDocument resource.

There are some of cached snippets calls (only [getResources] and [If] snippets), but even getting page from cache took about 1-3 seconds.
Fresh version of any page generates about 10-50 seconds and I found it too slow.... no, incredible slow!

A have big SMF forum on the same server (~2 million posts) and generating any topic or other page never need such long time. Usually, generation time is 0,2-0,5 sec for any forum page.

What’s wrong with my MODx site? What can I do to reduce page generation time and not lose flexibility of site’s structure?...

Server configuration: MODx Revolution 2.0.0-pl, Apache: 2.0, PHP Version: 5.3.3, Mysql: 5.0.7-dev, PDO: YES, accelerators (zendoptimizer, eaccelerator, APC): NO

Thats definitely not normal. Can you check your apache error log and look for segfaults? Also, check core/cache/logs/error.log as well for any modx-related errors. I’m willing to bet it’s either a PDO misconfiguration or something failing in your Apache setup.

It was my fault in part, I overused uncached [If] snippet.

For now only first time page generating tooks about 5-10 seconds. From cache this need only 0,2-0,5sec, but I still thing it’s too long.

check if you have duplicate aliases. On one of ’my’ sites probably that caused long loading.
