I usually upgrade my sites directly form GIT but I have some questions regarding the process.
Since I don’t have GIT on my server I usually download the latest version locally(git clone
http://github.com/modxcms/revolution.git from terminal), zip it, upload on the server, un-zip it, replace old files, run built, run setup
This seems to work pretty fast. The only problem is that when I do "git clone
http://github.com/modxcms/revolution.git " I also get the .git files. Is there a way to tell GIT to ignore the .gitignore files.
Also can the above process be simplified or improved?
