backing up in revolution

Hi!

I am learning the revolution and now i cant find where i can backup the database.

In the evolution you found it under the menu tools/backup.

Its not present out of the box in Revolution, you can do this through the Janitor 3PC if you want to do this from within Revolution itself.

Maybe because it’s such a trivial thing to do, they figured you could just do it yourself. I used Evolution for several years before I realized it even had this feature. I always use the command-line mysqldump utility to back up my databases -- it’s faster and it isn’t subjected to the same memory limitations as a front-end utility.

OR.... maybe it’s not present YET by default because in Revolution, the database is abstracted. This offers lots of flexibility, but it means that it’s trickier to write a backup function because you’d have to write it for each type of database that could be used (currently, the only database that’s used is MySQL, but that will change in the future).

I suspect this feature will be added to the core code sooner or later.
