Only placeholders display

What am I doing wrong? I installed and uninstalled the demo site into Revo 2.0, so I doubt it’s the installation.

Simplified,

Template:

{{header}}
[*content*]

header chunk:

this is the header

Resource: select my header above and content entered is "this is my test page."

Going to the page I should get "this is the header this is my test page."

What outputs is

{{header}}
[*content*]

Where am I going wrong?

Looks like those are Evo style placeholders. You need to use Revo style placeholders, which are slightly different:

Thanks Everett <not feeling real smart> I reinstalled the sample site and caught the difference just before you posted . . . . and it hit me. Doh.

I do this

[[!Wayfinder?startId=`0` &rowTpl=`mh.rowTpl` &hereClass=`selected` &lastClass=`last`]]

I get a menu from

<li><a id="[[+wf.attributes]]" [[+wf.classes]] href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]">[[+wf.linktext]]</a>[[+wf.wrapper]]</li>

All good, it’s accepting the ID’s, but I need a specific wrapper. As soon as I do this,

[[!Wayfinder?startId=`0` &outerTpl=`mh.outerTpl` &rowTpl=`mh.rowTpl` &hereClass=`selected` &lastClass=`last` &debug=`1`]]

with this as outerTpl,

<ul id="topnav"[[+wf.classes]]>
[[++wf.wrapper]]
</ul>


All I get for output is

<ul id="topnav">

</ul>

What am I missing? It would be helpful if the documentation shows cause and effect examples, it shows example usage . . . problem is I can’t get half of them to work so can’t see the effect. :-(

Did you try making [[++wf.wrapper]] this instead: [[+wf.wrapper]]

so the outer tpl becomes this:

<ul id="topnav"[[+wf.classes]]>
[[+wf.wrapper]]
</ul>

Watch out with your Snippet parameters: EACH of them needs the ampersand "&". Your startId parameter needs to read: &startId

As for the startID, I thought the first param didn’t need it? No matter, added, thank you.

Hmm... I thought each param needed the "&"... maybe it’s different with Revo.

Evo’s first param didn’t need it either. It’s very similar to URL query strings (as long as it was right next to the "?" with no whitespace).

In Revo the only thing with double-pluses in them are system settings, like for the site URL: [[++site_url]]

All other placholders only have a single plus sign: [[+my_custom_placeholder]]
