custom resource

Hi, I want to add custom content to my custom tab for resources (I need to add there list of entries in my own db table - making a catalog). What’s the best way? Is it custom modResource? If yes is there somewhere manual how to create custom resource class?
Please advice. It’s quite important for me. Thanks!

I don’t think that’s what I want
I want to add content to tab in resources.

on the front end, you can easily do that with snippets (and, maybe custom TVs too)
but if you want to be able to feed those extra tables from MODx manager, in think the best way will be through custom manager pages.

That’s what I don’t want. I thought it wouldn’t be such a problem to include it in resource tree.
Front end is no problem.

i think i haven’t understood exactly what you’re looking for... is it simply that you have pages you manage outside MODx and you just want to add them to the page tree ?

OK, let me clarify that.

When you’re creating modx resource you have there four tabs: Create/Edit documents, Page settings, Template variables and Access Permissions
I want to create custom resource where would be fifth tab "My Tab". This tab would contain (only) a table with list of catalog items get from db.

I hope it’s clear now. I think custom resource could handle this but I haven’t found manual or example how to create one.

even if it’s not really a cmp but something like customizing an already existing manager page... that maybe where to search

now, if i had to do something approaching your needs i would use a (custom) TV and snippets to deal with that extra content but that would not be a fifth tab...

Yes that was also one of my thoughts to use custom TV. But butter is custom resource I think
I’m doing reverse engineering right now so hopefully I could bring custom resource release soon.

Adding the tab is easy with Form Customization.

You’d have to use a plugin to add your own content to it. I’m not sure how you’d put content on a particular tab, but I’m pretty sure it can be done.
