How to upgrade from Revo rc3 to pl?

I had a site working well with Revo rc3 but wanted to use the Gallery package which was breaking the site (then read I need to use pl version for that). So now I’ve upgraded to 2.0.0-pl rev7212 but I’m getting strange empty error messages (error log is empty too) and can’t see any packages in Package Manager... although the snippets are clearly working because my front end site is working.

I looked for documentation on upgrading from Revo to the latest version but couldn’t find any instrux. What is the recommended way to do it? And how can I fix my strange errors?

An update,

Everything is working again after re-uploading all of the Revo files. I’m on a slow connection so perhaps a few files didn’t upload properly before.
