Image uploading (phpthumb) problem

Hi there,

I’m having a few problems with uploading and displaying of images, but the one which is giving me the most trouble is phpthumb. I’ve just installed revo, and cannot see any image thumbnails in the manager at all. If I open a thumbnail in a new window, so that the URL is:

http://domain.com/connectors/system/phpthumb.php?h=150&w=150&src=/assets/images/CIMG4290.JPG

then I see nothing at all, not even a phpthumb error. Viewing the source shows the page to be complete empty. Nothing gets dumped to any error logs either.

All this is happening on a server where we are running older versions of MODx with php thumb working fine.

I’m getting this problem also. The MODx Browser lists the available image files but shows no thumbnails. In addition, the Image TV allows me to select an image to add to a document from the correct path, but displays no thumbnail on the document’s Template Variables page (just shows an image placeholder). I also get a blank page when checking the path:

domain/connectors/system/phpthumb.php?src=/assets/images/image.png&w=X&h=Y

If anyone can shed some light on this issue I’d be very grateful.

I found out where the problem was.


In the file /core/model/phpthumb/phpthumb.class.php the config setting config_imagemagick_path was not set.

I have a deadline, and so haven’t got the time to work out where to set it (probably just a system setting, but I’m really up against it here), so I’ve come up with a quick fix.

In the phpthumb.class.php on line 119, change:


public $config_imagemagick_path = null;

to:

public $config_imagemagick_path = ’/usr/bin/convert’;

or whatever the path is to your image magick convert program, and the thumbnail appears.


Can anyone tell me the proper way to set this?
