I need to create a new table and want to be able to maintain it using the manager interface with a grid and form similar to the way Users are managed. I am an experienced PHP and JS programmer but new to Modx and Revo and am struggling with some of the concepts, I’m sure the "penny will drop" soon. I have not used EXT before but am really looking forward to working with it.
Creating and managing a new table would seem to me one of the most common extensions that people will want to make.
Is there a complete example anywhere?
The tutorials and examples I can find are bits and pieces but nothing is complete including the manager maintenance using EXT. I am sure I will be able to get this working but a good example is worth days of experimenting.
Was there an answer to this? I have a number of client uses for this type of customization.

No answer. I did complete an example for maintaining a table of vessels for a charter boat association but the project was eventually abandoned for other reasons.
I have attached a zip of the code which may be helpful.
Cheers.
This won’t help on creating a UI for maintaining the tables, but here’s some information that might help with creating them:

And here’s some information on using xPDO to modify the data:

You’ve probably seen this, and it’s out-of-date right now, but here’s some info on creating a Custom Manager Page to maintain a DB table:
