The getResourcesTag is an ’extender’ snippet for TagLister that is specifically designed to be used with getResources (but in tru MODx style it could _in theory_ be used by other snippets/plugins, hence the first two parts of the call, which tell it to use getResources, which is a snippet).
The same methodology is used for getPage, to paginate result sets in a getResources call.
Instead of listing all the properties in a call each time, you can save them as a distinct property set (to reuse). Presumably the @BlogList property set disappeared in development (or wasn’t documented and you’d have to manually recreate it).
There’s a similar-ish thing with Wayfinder, where there is a folder full of configs that ships with the package but it’s not mentioned anywhere that I can see - and can presumably be called with the property &config= and matching one of the config sets in the folder (which I think is a file-based way of doing property sets - but someone will correct me if I’m wrong).
