Manager Login via LDAP?

Hi,

Although I think it’s possible to do manager authentication via LDAP, I need to be sure of it and maybe get an idea of what I need to do.

I currently found this page http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/modActiveDirectory and still reading. I might soon set up a test site to see how it works.

You could copy the code that modActiveDirectory uses and customize it to your system.

The key parts are:
- You need a custom user class to do it, so that MODx can know how to authenticate that user
- You need to add the model path for your custom user class to the ’extension_packages’ setting (see the resolver in the modActiveDirectory script for how)

modActiveDirectory actually is a pretty good starting point/example for this.

What if we’re not using MS Active Directory? Does the modActiveDirectory addon work with a "regular" LDAP directory?
