we tried an adjustment through .htaccess with command: php_value max_execution_time 120
didn’t work either
we think we have all the necessary directories writable
can not find instructions in basic installation for this, nor for the config.inc.php requirement
don’t know what to do now to get it working
the weather (rain) allows just now for long modx-ing and trying out Revolution...
what a pity it doesn’t work
if I understand your rather cryptic answer correctly,
we can forget about Revolution with this provider as they are not prepared the turn the safe mode off.
if the link you provided is a solution to that; could you please expand on it, I do not understand what is meant
also I cannot believe we are the only users with this problem?

I get the point; no Revo for this customer who insists -for whatever reason- to stick with this provider.
As we have to respect that we’ll archive Revo untill the day comes and do with Evo, which is fine BTW.
In general calling people ’lousy’ gives a poor base for negotiations.
Certainly about issues they’re insecure about and that challenges their technical ability.
Most of us tend to go on the safe (..!..) side...
So with Revo it is like with the iPhone4; the nerds have decided we should head this way, and they are right no doubt,
except the real world slowly tags along and they are not prepared to recognize that as a fact of life and allow for it.
It’s the others that have to change...
Which is true and must be, but that realisticly does take time.
