Best practice re end-user editing of content in revo?

Hi.

In the common scenario where you want to implement a CMS for what is basically a static site, just to provide the end user (owner) with the ability to edit content in a controlled way, what is the best practice to do this in revo?

I did ask a similar question previously re evo where the suggested solution was front-end editing via QuickManager.

Does the fact that quickmanager is not available for the released version of revo imply a change of focus on how to go about this?

What is the best way to go about giving the clients control over their content in a way that limits or removes their ability to create havoc with the site?

I’m sure there will be front-end editing tool(s) for Revolution but you may have to wait couple months before third party extras development for Revolution will get up to full speed.

I’m sure I’ll eventually port QM+ to Revolution if nobody else will develop front-end editing tool for Revolution before that. Unfortunately I’m currently too busy with other MODx projects that are still based on MODx Evolution. I’m afraid rough release estimate for QM+ for Revolution won’t be until early 2011.

Thanks Lammikko - I’m almost tempted to offer to port it but am time poor myself.

In the absence of QuickManager anyone else care to give a quick overview of how best to facilitate end user content editing - preumably in the manager?
