So I just installed Revolution on my shared bluehost. At the end I got to the page saying "Thank you for installing...Please select the login button to access the management interface". I checked the box to DELETE the setup directory then clicked Login. That instantly gave me a standard generic IE 404 IE can’t find your page error. Setup directory is in fact gone from my server now as expected. So I tried just going to the basic web address, where I dumped the contents of the installation zip I downloaded. Just a blank page...no errors, no management interface, no login page, nothing. I tried adding index.php to the url, same result.
The documentation does not cover this at all, it doesn’t even tell you how you would log in anyway....it says install and click that button, and the next thing it refers to is you looking at your default manager page. I don’t even know how I would get to it later anyway.
I fiddled with index.php, adding in my favorite debugging lines I refer to as The Alphabet. print "A";
print "B"; etc, inserted between what look to be major points in the php. Bottom line result....the last few lines in index.php are now like so:

if (!MODX_API_MODE) {

$modx->handleRequest();

}
print "D";
My output ends in FgG
No D, so it’s leaving through the $modx->handleRequest(); function. I’m gussing I need some sort of request parameter to pass in on the URL?
Anyway, can somebody tell me where the heck to find the dang login page?? TIA!
Figured it out. Somehow the "manager" directory wasn’t present. Pretty sure I did copy it up, but can’t prove it. Oh well...
Bluehost has a SimpleScripts install for MODx Evolution and Revolution through cPanel. It worked really well when I tried it. I’m not sure if the pl version is up there yet.
It does updates too.
