TinyMCE: Creating a new line

Does anyone know while using TinyMCE in WYSIWYG mode how to get it to create a
?

Everytime I hit the "enter/return" key to create a new line, it actually creates a new <p>paragraph</p>.

Try using shift+enter. This is normal behavior since the editor is more or less emulating a word processor to some degree.
