I’ve created 2 form customisation rules to hide the ’Container’ checkbox on Static Resources:
Action: resources/staticresources/create
Name: isfolder
Containing panel: modx-panel-resource
Rule: Field Visible

Action: resources/staticresources/update
Name: isfolder
Containing panel: modx-panel-resource
Rule: Field Visible

When I create a New Static Resource - use the icon set buttons under the Resources tab - the ’Container’ field is hidden. (manager/index.php?a=48&class_key=modStaticResource)
If I then edit the saved Static Resource the ’Container’ field is visible.
It looks as though the initial action id is set to the correct value of 48. When I edit the saved Static Resource the action id will be set to whatever it had been in the previous request(relative path?) but the system will redirect it to 30 which is the action id for updating Resources.
If I manually change the action id in the URL from 30 to 47 the Form Customisation rule will apply and the container field will be hidden.
Is this the expected behaviour of the system or are the links of saved items in the Resources tree picking up the wrong action id?
That sounds like a bug to me (or a not-yet-fully-implemented feature).
I suspect that the system doesn’t distinguish between various kinds of resources at the point where the rule applies.
Could you file that in Jira via the Bugs and Requests button at the top of this page?

Looks like actions such as resource/staticresource/create etc. have been deprecated. Apparently the best way to apply FC rules to derivative types is through a constraint.

I don’t think so -- just the sub-actions like resource/staticresource/create AFAIK. I think if you go to System->Actions and play around, you can see which ones are active.

Well hopefully I’ll get an answer soon as I’m a bit baffled by the intended behaviour given that, as an example, the default action for creating a static resource is 48 (resource/staticresource/create) and that has apparently been deprecated.
