multi domain/context setup, context based filemanager_path

Am i the only one having problems getting the file-manager to respect the ’filemanager_path’ context setting? Currently i’m stuck serving all of the /assets files for all contexts from a single domain because the file-manager wont load up the correct filemanager_path when trying to add/pick an asset to display on the resource content.

I’m temporarily dealing with it, but i’d like to confirm that others are having this problem as it might increase the priority.

i created a ticket for it (http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/MODX-2184), but im not completely convinced that its a bug, so hopefully this community will steer me in the right direction

No, you are not alone. I am stuck with the same problem: One core installation should serve some subdomains. But I cannot get the file manager not to get the images from the assets folder of the main installation but to get them from the subdomain folders. Since the main folder is not available for the subdomains, no images are visible. Too bad.

Anybody out there who mastered the problem with the filemanager and contexts?

I encountered the same problem but with Revolution 2.0.2 - are there any other settings needed? I set the filemanager_path to the directory /home/mydomain/public_html/clients/assets/ and the filemanager_url to http://clients.mydomain.com/assets/ but I cannot upload files via the filemanager and TinyMCE (the filemanager shows correctly the directories and files but uploading an image gives the message ’the specified directory is not a directory’).

I get the same error.

Revolution 2.0.2-pl - Traditional, PHP 5.2.11, MySQL 5.1.45, pdo_mysql is installed, Firefox 3.6.10 (Win7)

I changed the 2 files

• core/model/modx/modfilehandler.class.php
• manager/assets/modext/widgets/system/modx.tree.directory.js

cleared MODx and Browser Cache, but still getting the same error

It only works if the context and the user get the same filemanager_path.
Is it also possible that one user has a different path on each context ?
