disappointing... chunk wont save either [server-specific]

I haven’t got time for posted long message on here because I have been a modx user for years now and everything usually goes without a hiccup, until I decided to install the "new" revolution release... now its only because i am a user of the previous versions that I was actual able to do most of the things i want to do, but for some reason, a chunk I created wont update despite hitting save about 10 times.. so I deleted it, and made a new one which also wont save.

As far as I’m aware all I’m doing is pressing new chunk, typing a name (with no spaces... not sure if we can now have spaces in chunk names but it isn’t stopping me doing so) typing my content , in this case its just "test" then press save.. the fancy spinners say saving but nothing appears in the chunk tree

and the call method has also changed, I had to dig around for that too! why not put the chunk including instructions on the add chunk page like you use to have {{ the text field here }} so we knew how to include the chunk!?

some of the things it lacks now are main features that will deter new users of modX

ANY WAY... some one tell me how to now make a chunk save please

Ok.. i saved a chunk but had to remove my HTML to save it..

wont save.. but

<div style=’margin:0 auto;’> (single quotes)

does save...

thats not ’proper’ HTML... why cant i save proper html with double quotes in my chunks, this is silly.

You are using 100% free software. You aren’t paying a dime for it.

That said, I’m not able to replicate this problem at all, so this is not the software at fault, but rather your environment.

- Try turning magic_quotes_gpc off.
- Did you add any custom plugins, or install anything from Package Management?
- Are you using any opcode caching, such as eAccelerator, APC, or xCache?

My time is money lol, I mean time spent trying to fix/resolve ’my environment’ which always worked perfectly on the old version of modx is something I cant be dealing with, it has always just worked out of the box with minimal set up which is why I use it


Anyway, its a totally fresh install.

nothing custom, I just tried to add a new chunk with double quotes

ok, I still cant save chunks with " in them

and not I cant download wayfinder from the package thing.

I press download and an empty pop up appears saying error

my packages directory is writeable...

what else can I do to get this working?

I had this issue, running a very similar setup to you. Disabling the codemirror package fixed it for me... Do you happen to have that installed?

I have exactly the same problem. Clear install, without any packages.
Error occurs when the chunk contains a sequence: > <
