Remove configuration check window on welcome screen

I’m developing a site where around 5 persons will be granted a role of EDITOR. I’ve read through Revolution Permissions (http://bobsguides.com/revolution-permissions.html) a couple of times and I’m beginning to get the grasp of things.

And since the editors will only be able to edit some of the resources on the page, I created a RESOURCE GROUP who only the administrator has access to. In this group I put 404 page, startpage etc.

But when I log in as an editor, I get the CONFIGURATION CHECK window on the welcome screen telling me that the Error page is not created. I assume this is because the editor don’t have access to that page, so MODx thinks it’s not there.

How can I get rid of the CONFIGURATION SCREEN window for the EDITORS? Or is this a bug that will be fixed?

Have you checked what resource the error page is set to in the system settings and made sure that resource exisits.

The resource exists. But the EDITOR has no permission to edit it or view it in the manager. When I log in as the ADMINISTRATOR the configuration check window is not there.

I have found that I can remove access to the welcome page for the EDITORS, but then I only get an ugly error message so thats no good.

In the meantime, you could create a dummy error page and create an error_page user setting pointing to it for each user. That would avoid the configuration check.

On second thought, an error_page user setting pointing to a page the user can see and edit should do it without the need to create a new resource.
