What's modx_user_settings table for?

Hi,

I’m looking for a way to add custom user settings. Is modx_user_settings table for that matter?
If yes, is there a snippet or some guidelines to use it? (I’m using the login profile editing snippet)
If not, is building a 3rd party package with a custom table the right way to do? (I was doing that when I saw the table)

In MODx 2.x, settings can be set at the system, context, and/or user level. This table is for the user-level settings.

For extended profile data, there is a new feature in RC3 for managing custom profile data in the core user profile (see the Extended Fields tab when editing a User), or you can go with the external related table route if you have specific requirements that cannot be met by the generic solution provided.
