package missing in provider list after install/remove/reinstall

Hi,

I installed quip, then uninstalled it & removed it. I then went to reinstall it from the default modxcms.com provider, but it no longer appears in any of the categories, nor can I search for it.
Presumably it’s trying to not show me already installed packages, and erronously thinks that quip is still installed? How do I persuade it otherwise?

I just tested this twice, once forcing removing of the physical package, and once without. Both times I was able to immediately go back to the provider and download the same version of Quip.

Hmm, I have removed (accidentally) and reinstated (eventually) my modxcms.com provider, now I don’t get any packages in the package browser at all, and I get a dialog box that says "Error: error".

If I tried to upgrade one of my already installed packages, I get a dialog that says "provider_err_nf", which I’m guessing is "not found".

I think I’ve screwed my provider set up: currently I have just the one entry with name=modxcms.com and service_url=http://rest.modxcms.com/extras/ does that look right?


Additional: ah, I think I’ve fixed my provider problems; the new provider had an id of 3 in the modx_transport_providers table, but the entries in modx_transport_packages were expecting provider=1. I can upgrade and browse packages again, but quip is still absent.

If I search for "quip" and watch the traffic, I see a POST request to packages-rest.php with params query=quip&tag=&action=getList&provider=1, to which the response is ({"total":"0","results":[]}).

D’oh, well I just noticed rc3 was available, so I installed that and quip has reappeared as an option.

I notice that the query for packages-rest.php is now query=quip&tag=&action=getList&provider=1&Powered-By=MODx&HTTP_MODAUTH=modx4c3a3586f3ed58.79586745, and the response is full of meaty goodness this time.

Incidentally, the *exact* same request is sent at least twice, sometimes 4 times in a row - that can’t be optimal?

Right, back to quip hacking for me....

Although the requests are made to 1 file, i don’t think they bare the same content.

No, the content is exactly the same, byte for byte.
