Adding an RTE (or any extra) to Revo RC3

Installation was smooth and the first impression of the manager interface was very good .. until i tried getting an RTE added which *should* be very easy thanks to the new package management.

I read here that with revo you can right click extras in the package manager and select install. I was impressed about this feature and was looking forward to give it a try!

On my FireFox 3.6 however i only get the regular browser contexmenu when i right click an extra. Note that I haven’t disabled javascript manually or by a FireFox addon. I used those listed in "most popular" and "newest" as none would show up in the categories folders on the left.

Which leads me to my second issue : I use the modxcm.com provider and I don’t understand why no extras are showing up. For example when navigate to:
MODx Add-Ons > RichttextEditors

I got nothing but:
"No Data to dispay"

I could probably go and download extras and install the old fashioned way but where’s the fun in that?

Maybe there is just no rte available for revo rc3 yet. But still .. why doesn’t the rightclick on an extra work?

A third issue, is probably a little bug: The table which displays the extras gets truncated for some but not all of the extras categories (For example "MODx addons" and "Core Extensions" render correctly, "Front End Templates" and "Manager Templates" don’t - see attached screenshots)

I searched the most recent messages in this board and the documentation but I didn’t find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

PS1: I’m running a fresh install of RC3 in a subfolder. Using the most recent xampp environment on Windows Vista (localhost). Running FireFox 3.6.6

PS2: Evolution is running on it as well but in a different folder (root / htdocs) and uses a seperate databases.

PS2: This is the first time I’m experimenting with revo so excuse my ignorance

I think I don’t however I don’t know what curl is exactly and how to find out for sure. All I know is: It is not listed in the xampp modules and I didn’t install it manually.

Basic and probably stupid question but ... when you are in the Select Package screen did you try to refresh the right part of the screen by clicking on the rounded arrows at the bottom... Sometimes it takes a bit time to display, and a simple refresh is enough to see the available packages...

An updated empty grid message should do the trick, i’ve used it on one of my work.

So interpolation from your discussion .. It works for others and thus it is not a bug per se. MODx Revolution requires cURL, if it’s not part of your configuration things will break.

Am I correct?

cURL is required for Package Management (although in some environments, just having sockets should work fine. However, some people seem to have had problems with this.).

Everything else should work fine.
