System Info: phpinfo() different then test file

Hi,

Using the phpinfo() page from Manager:System Info:View phpinfo()
(http://modx_site.tld/connectors/system/phpinfo.php)

It tells me that I have safe_mode ON

But if I create a file containing


and run it from the root directory
(http://modx_site.tld/my_phpinfo.php)

Then it reports safe_mode OFF.

Any idea what’s happening?

Sounds like you are using a CGI configuration that requires a php.ini file in every directory you want to change settings in.

I’m guessing this is another side affect to my servers recent change to suphp.

Damn I’m getting sick of these shared servers - I never now where I stand
