$_SESSION doesn't work?

Hi,
Two days ago I started using the MODx revolution SESSION mechanism - and it worked fine.
But today it stopped working. I have tried to change back most of the environment settings I changed since the day before yesterday, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Can anyone give me a hint for what to try next?
(I see only one error in the log "onable to load dynamic library .../mhash.so")

Did someone change your PHP configuration? Sounds like you are missing a required library in your PHP configuration.

No, I’m the only one with (login-)access to the server.

Today I found out that I could store small values in SESSION, but not the values I need to store (a large array and the HTML for a large form).
Are there size or type limitations?
(am I trying to do the impossible?)

Sure, in the Gb range for storage in the session table, though it would be much more practical limit in reality, based on your PHP memory_limit

I didn’t think that my memory-limit was that low, but it worked after I rewrote the software to require a smaller amount of data to be stored in SESSION; so thanks!
