    Sirs

    Try as I might I cannot get my SVN Revo RC3 (MODx Revolution 2.0.0-rc-3 rev6998) going with APC. I am running centos 5.5 with php 5.2.11 and have now upgraded APC to 3.1.3p1.

    The error occurs first at manager login where this is reported:

    Fatal error: Class ’xPDO’ not found in /home/tazzy_modx/public_html/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php on line 557

    Turning off apc rectifies this issue and so does adding this line to the apc ini:

    apc.filters=tazzy_modx

    That’s hardly a surprise as it turns APC off for my modx install!!

    There are several references to APC on this board and all sort of balony about permissions and ftp as reasons for failure. The fact is in my case the issue is APC pure and simple. I can’t have it on.

    APC is a pretty stock thing these days and it would ne nice if it worked. I will see if I can fix this and report, but I doubt it is within my capability

    Regards Julian

      Looks like this may be something to do with this http://till.klampaeckel.de/blog/archives/101-PHP,-APC-and-sessions.html, seems to affect PHP versions 5.2.6, 5.2.11 and 5.3.2(the one I tested on). APC doesn’t seem to see class constants for some reason. As anybody got a set up with APC working in Revo RC3 I wonder?

        I use APC without problems locally:

        - APC 3.1.3p1
        - php 5.3.2

          Interesting, have you changed any apc ini file settings, also what platform are you on with this? If we can’t come up with a fix for this maybe we can at least document platforms where it will give probs. I’ll test on my other boxes but I don’t think this is Revo per see at the mo, more the environment it runs in.

            FYI, issue with opcode caching systems like APC should be resolved for 2.0.5; see https://github.com/modxcms/revolution/commit/18e311258a87cd3609a6e6adaa621af5281fe6f8 for commit details.
