Content - Staging and Live site

This has been brought up in older forum threads, so I decided to revive the discussion.

Where on the Modx roadmap is the ability to have a staging and live sites viewing? This is one area in which SilverStripe excels. They keep both staging and live site tables for various resource types. Editing and previewing is done with staging content. When the content is ready to go live it is publish to the live content tables for public viewing. For the small site I’m using to test Modx this is not an issue. But this is something that could hold back Modx implementation on a larger scale.

Agreed - Having a staging solution inside MODx is a major +1 for me too... Being able to allow users in targeted user groups to create / edit resources which do not go live until a publisher approves them is a must...

Any plans for this MODx core team?

I'd be happy to flesh out the use-case scenarios to design the solution against...?

That's likely to be in the 3.0 release towards the end 2012 (but could slip into 2013 in order to get it exactly right). 2.2 will be out soon and 2.3 will come after it. Don't expect to make it to a 2.5. Hop this helps!

Thanks Malcolm - seems to have been planned for many years but not implemented...
