Latest SVN install(6987) doesn't have a working tree [solved]

Hi,

I noticed the tree is not visible because of javascript error.

I just posted this in here as a warning for others that might want to upgrade.

See my comment on the ticket, this most likely has to do with you having cached browser JS or cache files.

I cleared my cache several times. Firefox, safari and chrome

No luck

Please provide PHP/MySQL info, server information, and ensure that all the files were uploaded correctly.

Also, from what revision did you update from?

I cannot replicate this.

I did an upgrade from an SVN version before RC2. Can’t remeber which. I could try and find out

What is weird is that I disabled the "Use Compressed Javascript Libraries" and the menu appeared but the right side was now under the menu and not fully visible

System info:

PHP Version 5.2.12
MySql 5.0.90-community

I do all my updates through console so all the files should have been uploaded correctly

I upload an archived svn checkout and use


I did this twice. First for the 6986 checkout and second for 6987

I’ll do it one more time.

Make sure these settings are set to 0:

compress_js
compress_css
concat_js

You might have to edit them directly in the modx_system_settings DB table, and then clear the cache (delete the core/cache/config.cache.php file).

That worked. I’ll enable those setting again and report if the problem happens again

No, it’s not a *problem*, per se.

CSS and JS compression is not available in the SVN version unless you want to run the Ant build scripts every time you update. It’s horrid development practice to ask us to compress/concat every single JS or CSS change every time we commit - so the compression only happens during releases (via the _build/build.xml) file.

If you want to get it working locally, you can use Ant to run _build/build.local.xml (after setting up a _build/build.properties file).

Or you can just use it on releases.

No problem.
I don’t care about compressing those files. They are cached anyway.
