File manager creates folders with a 041 permissions value

Howdy all... first off - Love Modx Revolution. Awesome system.

I am however trying to see what I can do about a problem I’ve only recently encountered... whenever I create a folder in the file manager it creates a folder with a numeric file permission of 041.

Is there some setting that I may have goofed on (it’s a new install)? Is there something I should be contacting my host about? I am developing on a temporary url until I get the site ready to go and we point the domain from the old host to the new one. Could that be it?

Do you see a new_file_permissions or new_folder_permissions system setting in your install? If not, try adding those with the values you want, expressed in the format 0775 (or 0664 for files).

If that doesn’t solve the problem, please see http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/MODX-1961 and post any additional relevant information you can, as this has been reported by another user as well.

I did have to set /assets to 777 for it to work though, but I’m able to add new folders and files to the assets area, but when I added the settings it automatically added the description for me, like it was waiting for those values.

Whatever, seems to be rolling... however I should note that when I installed it did ask me what settings I wanted. Apparently they didn’t take?

If they match your server umask they will not be set. This is likely what you experienced.
