Port site to modx (suggestions)

Hi everybody

I have a music directory site (www.metalbible.com) which is currently in joomla and i am thinking to port it to Revo
The problem is that it has 25k+ entries (artists, albums, songs).

I can see 2 solutions.

1. To use extra tables (the ones I already have), but as far as I know I will not be able to take advantage of ditto that way and

2. To import somehow my data to the standard modx tables (by creating documents and TVs) but I am not sure if it is possible

Do you have any suggestions?

I also thought that it would be the easiest way (to reuse the existing tables) but my problem is that ditto doesn’t seem to work if the content comes from custom tables.
For example I can display the artists with a TV with @SELECT input and Hyperlink output but that’s all I can get. After that I think it needs a lot of custom coding.
That’s why I try to import the old content to the modx tables
