customizing TinyMCE

Is there a good documentation resource for how/where to customize TinyMCE within Revo? Which buttons appear, which version of HTML is used, etc?

In the TinyMCE website under examples there are "examples" of different
configurations of it. I do not think it matters where it is used.

I do not know for Revo, I have not checked, but in Evo you go to the
configuration Tab on the admin and you can add/delete any buttons that
appear on the top of the editor...

There should be some Settings under the "TinyMCE" namespace. I think there’s settings for each of the rows. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked at that code, but check System Settings under the tinymce namespace for now.

They should be called ’tiny.custom_buttons1’ or something like that.

Finally got around to testing those settings. Went into System Settings, filtered by namespace for TinyMCE. I changed the setting for tiny.custom_buttons2, removing ’underline’ from the list, just to see what would happen. Didn’t seem to have any effect, as the underline button is still showing up in the 2nd row, even after clearing cache and restarting my session.

The test changes I made to tiny.custom_buttons1 and tiny.custom_buttons2 took effect when I changed tiny.editor_theme from "editor" to "advanced".

Digging around a little bit in
core/components/tinymce/tinymce.class.php
and
assets/components/tinymce/tinymce.panel.js

...I found that ’custom’ seems to work also. Not sure why ’editor’ doesn’t work as a value, or why it was set to that in my system settings.

Trying to add custom selectors to TinyMCE in Revo via System Settings -> editor_css_selectors. Says it wants a Comma-Separated list.

I’ve tried several variations on what I think TinyMCE is looking for - including the Evo model of Name=selector. Nothing seems to want to work for me.

Thoughts?

You’ll need to get the latest TinyMCE integration Extra (4.0.0-rc1) to get it to work; it was a bug in prior versions. Then you can use syntax similar to the Evo model.

That did it. BTW, loving the transport stuff. Drop a zip file in core/packages.... brilliant!
