Whilst starting to look at sprucing up the Provisioner 3PC for the RC2 release I’m looking at a display bug I’ve got now(no page being loaded), I’ve traced this to the handling of Smarty templates in Provisioner.
To find out what may have changed I’ve looked at two of the latest components with manager pages to be released being Quip and Redirector. In both cases I’ve found that these don’t seem to use Smarty templates at all(Ok, they don’t need to) but more scarily they implement their own modrequest connector/controller classes and their own header/footer pages etc. The Doodles example 3PC also does this but the example in the Revo docs pages shows it using Smarty and the existing modrequest handler etc.
So, is this the way to go now? I’ve not got to the bottom of the bug yet but Smarty can’t locate the ’header.tpl’ file from /manager/templates/default for some reason, hence the blank page.
