Successful install, fatal error when I try to open /manager

I received the following error

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/cardboa4/public_html/core/model/modx/modmanagerresponse.class.php on line 43

when I try to access the /manager.

I’m using justhost with PHP 5.2, and pdo_mysql installed. I uploaded the files via FTP in parts on two separate occasions so it’s possible that some of the files are missing. However, the install completed successfully.

Would appreciate some help,

Then below modx said the install was successful. When I clicked "Next," modx said "500 Application Error." The URL is http://cardboardsmile.com/setup/?action=complete.

1. PHP/MySQL Version (all numbers)
2. Are you sure pdo_mysql is enabled?
3. eAccelerator/APC enabled?
4. Is this the traditional or advanced package?
5. Did you read the instructions here: http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Troubleshooting+Installation
6. Is this an upgrade or a new install?
7. Did you try re-uploading the files?
8. Any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log or other install logs?

The 500 error makes me think either you have eAccel/APC on and misconfigured, or pdo_mysql is not configured correctly.

3. not sure what those are so whatever the default settings are for my web host
4. I downloaded Revolution 2.0.0-rc-1 - is this the best version of Revolution?

6. This is my third attempt or so at a new install.
7. I’ve tried re-uploading the core directory. The other ones I didn’t because i’m on a somewhat slow connection, uploading 10mb is painful.

just tried re-uploading every file and still getting the 500 application error after i get a bunch of green arrows for install successful

Do you have an .htaccess file in the manager directory? What about the web root directory (www, htdocs, public_html)?

Public_html and manager both have .htaccess files (changed from ht.access file names). The install still didn’t work.

So even without the .htaccess files you got the 500 errors? I was thinking perhaps it was something to do with the .htaccess files.

I tried installing with both files as ht.access files and then cleared the database and tried installing again with .htaccess files - got the same error each time. I think I’m going to just try Evolution.
