You’ll have to ask your host or provide more information from your phpinfo() output. Or read http://www.php.net/manual/en/configuration.changes.modes.php - this is extremely dependent on the hosting environment.

If you want to provide your phpinfo output in a PM so as not to share that information publicly, that would be fine.

Your issue might be use of a non-standard mysql sock file location (/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock) and no configuration for the PDO driver, or could be what I mentioned before. Sometimes the specific errors are not presented in production server environments, but rather logged to file (generally in the apache error_log). If you have access to these those might help as well.

Otherwise, I’m not sure what the problem could be if not one of the optimizers or the sock file issue.

Unfortunately nothing that makes me think it’s anything else but one of the problems we’ve already described.

I faced this issue too, this error occurs when renaming config.inc.tpl.
Let this file as it is, and just create a blank writable config.inc.php : it will work !

I was scratching my head and trying everything but with no luck. But this worked for me too and Revolution was installed successfully
