Revolution Friendly Web Hosting

I’m shopping around for a new web hosting provider for more than one reason. Curious to see which providers are friendly to MODx Revolution.

I can’t get it to work with my current provider, even though they have a modern apache server with the PDO driver now installed. I log into the manager and the screen is blank. (maybe it’s my fault, haven’t figured it out yet).

Are there specific hosts out there where people have found success? (preferably Linux)

if you could run the /setup successfully, it should work. I wouldn’t blame the hosting provider..

Well I need to leave my provider regardless of any MODx concerns. As I said, I have more than one reason for seeking out a new host. But I want to make sure that the new host has all the necessary bells and whistles (like the mysql_PDO driver).

Not really sure what I’m doing wrong with setup. Perhaps I should delete and start over.

Yeah, I deleted EVERYTHING (every file, every table), downloaded a fresh copy of RC1, tried again. Same result.

Deleted everything again, this time changing all permissions to 755, and ran setup yet again. Same result; blank page and blank source.

I guess I’m hoping to find a provider where people have had a successful install, and then I’ll know it’s my fault if it happens again.

Well I shopped around, and settled on GoDaddy to my surprise. Works great, no problems!

After playing with revolution for less than 30 minutes, I have to say WOW Very impressive
