Cannot install packages

I’m stumped - I’ve downloaded RC1 and installed it successfully (can log into the admin etc) and decided to install the sample site. The packages show up, I can agree to the license terms, click finish and the console pops up - but it only ever shows

and no more text.

Interestingly, the documents are inserted into the document tree, but the snippets (or whatever Revo calls them) are not installed, and the website doesn’t show up the right design.

I’ve chmodded all directories outlined in the yellow box on http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Fresh+Installation so I would hope everything is correctly set up for files to be written to the file system. Can anyone help?

Do other packages install ok?

Other packages produced errors; from these I tracked down the problem to core/components not existing (I didn’t use the Advanced installer but the other), and so creating that directory and chmodding 777 fixed the problem. There are errors while trying to install (about validating the license) but it now installs correctly.

I get the Console window that doesn’t execute during the install... ie: "Console running...." then nothing. All files seem to be added to core/components and the package registers as installed, after I refresh the admin.

So steps I took, downloaded from modx extras via the package manager... then installed, agree to license, click through the readme.. then console shows up and stalls leaving a windows that can not be removed or cleared. Refresh is the only option.

Be sure to also have a folder in the root of your server called "assets" which
has properties 777 prior to installing. This caused lot’s of errors for me...
And now i can succesfully install the packages
