Modules

Hi!
I’ve just startet learning MODx and i’m pretty impressed how easy it is to use
I’m currently making an website where i need an module in the backend for uploading an image, a link and some info. But then i stumbles accross something about modules not available in MODx Revolution?
Is this true?
My intention is to switch the website over to Revolution, when the final release comes. Will that be easy?

Correct, Modules are not in MODx Revolution and are replaced by CMPs, or Custom Manager Pages. This means Modules developed for Evolution will have to be converted to CMPs (or alternatively, developed as a front-end component with Elements).

Other than converting Modules though, ease of migration from Evolution to Revolution will depend on what Extras you are using with Evolution and if they are available for Revolution (or work without alteration). Even then, some Extras that are available for Revolution may require taking manual steps after migrating your content before they will work. Unfortunately this will vary from site to site and Extra to Extra. A migration guide is being developed.
