Simple questions about manager area

Hi! I’ve these 3 simple questions:

in "settings" tab of resources I’ve a check named "Container" ... what does that mean?

in menu (wayfinder), I’ve manu button with subitems.... Is it possible to open a specific resource when a users clicks on the father of menu?


there is a solution for don’t show specific folder in folders tree?? I don’t want allow manager users to show system/code folders

it will be treated in manager as a container for more resources.
in addition - using friendly-urls (with default settings), that resource will be /resourceAlias/ and not /resourceAlias.html

not sure what you mean, when the user clicks on father-link he’ll get that resource. you want him to get another resource instead? if always - then just have a redirection snippet as the content of that resource, or make the father resource a symLink (http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Using+Resource+Symlinks)

About tree files, do you think that is it possible don’t show specific folders?? I don’t like to show system/core folders to manager users!

Actually - you don’t ’have to’ use this feature - it will be done for you if you like it or not.. if you create a resource under a resource - the parent will automatically become a container.
You may set a resource to container even though it has no children - the only difference would be in friendly-url (it will not get the default .html suffix)

About hiding folders in the tree - I’m sorry but I’m not sure you can do it (maybe someone else can offer a solution)

as a workaround you can completely hide the files tab via css

in: /manager/templates/default/css/index.css


(note, this workaround might be overwritten next time you upgrade revolution)

But with your CSS I delete/hide all folders... I would like don’t show/hide only system folder and keep/show a folder named images that I’ve created for allow users to upload images to use in content!

Is it possible?

Not in RC1; it is available in SVN or will be in RC2.

I’m using SNV version (2.0.0-rc-2 rev6618)

- Update to rev 6656.
- Set the User Setting ’filemanager_path’ for the User to whatever path (relative to the base path of your MODx install - ie, assets/ or assets/users/myuser/ or whatever) you want to restrict the user to.
