Does anyone know of a plugin for Modx that is similar to the WordPress Plugin: http://www.featuredcontentgallery.com/

If not a plugin, a fairly simple way to implement something similar?

I would like to use something like this that would allow my client to add the correct size photo and a summary of the story with a link directly to that story. It should be able to fade between 3 or 4 recent articles.

I’m guessing I could use a TV for the image and call the Summary text. But I’m hoping to find something already built so I don’t have to build it myself.

    Any thoughts would be great.

    Thanks.

You could do this withthe snippet Maxigallery using smoothgallery as the type of gallery within maxi.

This is if you are using Evolution of course.

For Revolution... I am not sure.

I will be using Evo. I was looking at the Featured Content Gallery Plugin for WordPress and see that it was created using: http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net/getting-started/

I’m hoping to be able to use that and pull the content in from the posts. This is a bit out of my league, but I’m hoping I can figure a way out to do it.

I’m not sure how I would do it with MaxiGallery, but I’m willing to explore that option as well. So far I’ve only used maxigallery for straight up photo galleries on pages. I guess that would take some thinking as well.

        Thanks for the thoughts.

In maxigallery, you have title and description fields that you fill in when you upload, for each photo in the gallery.
The description field’s output css could be sized for the text space you need.
Smoothgallery that you have the link to, was integrated into maxigallery.

Pulling all your content from a wordpress database to maxigallery is way out of my league.

The other trick to it, that I am not sure of how to do, is to link from each image in the gallery to another page. That might require some code tweaking. Maybe someone else knows about that?

Thanks for pointing out that SmoothGallery was integrated into ModX. I just did a test gallery of 4 images, which is what I need and everything works great. Now, I just need to be able to assign a link from each slide to a page or story in the site.

            Anyone have any suggestions?

I would love to integrate that too. Especially for my home page that has a random image come up each time the page lands using maxigallery. a link to the gallery that the random image comes from would be real cool.

I redesigned and rebuilt my personal site on modx over the past half year and am about to submit it to "made in modx"
It has an iphone version as well, a little tweaky on that side still, but so are iphones.

I set it up so that the iphone version uses the thumbnails from the regular version’s galleries so that I don’t have to upload images twice. It was a pain to figure out a lot of it but digging through these forums got me there.
