How to update working Revo site from SVN?

I’ve got a production Revolution site running based on the stable build Windows installer. It’s great, but by now probably far out of date relative to the current development build. Is there an easy way to update my current installation from the current build? I don’t want to do a fresh install, just an update.

With 346 pages on this thread, the question has probably been asked before. I poked around but didn’t find an answer. Thanks for your patience and advice.

If you’re using SVN, you’ll need to run a build first - see http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Using+MODx+Revolution+from+SVN

Once you’ve run the build, then just upload all the files to your server (including the newly created-by-the-build core/packages/core.transport.zip), and run setup. Make sure the "exported from SVN" checkbox is checked.

I’d just add: don’t forget to backup your old system before you do it.. files system + sql export.
