In these days I’ve read your link (
http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Using+MODx+Revolution+from+SVN) and made test.... Can you support me in these problems??
Suppose that I’ve an installed and working version of Revo, installed using setup, where I’ve my documents, my contents and, for example, every 2 weeks I want to update this version with SVN latested files:
I would like to download the Revo version where I found all updates/fixed done each day/week for allow me to update my installed version with bug/fixes/updates added
I refer to this URL
http://svn.modxcms.com/svn/tattoo/tattoo/branches/2.0, as you have written me in your old post
Please tell me if these steps are right
- I download all files (from a specified SVN url, branches/2.0) using SVN
- In downloaded files (on my PC) I create my new build.config files (I find this downloaded files and I modify it)
- I also modify build.config for point to a blank DB (not my installed Revo version DB)
- From downloaded folder/files I execute _build/transport.core.php (I can do this using browser.... not using VNC)
- Now I will have a file named core/packages/core.transport.zip and a folder named core/packages/core/
- Now I Can execute the setup of Revo ... I run setup from new files downloaded, from new version downloaded (I still have my old version of Revo in another folder, and in another DB)
- What I’ve to do with two (zip file and folder) created?
- <<"Make sure you check both the "Core package has been manually unpacked" and "Files are already in-place" options when installing from SVN">>
this isn’t clase Do I’ve to execute the install from SVN or from Browser?? (Why do have to verify these checks in SVN if I install from browser URL Setup??)
- Now new version it’s installed (I suppose)... How Can I transfer documents/chunks/snipptes created in my old version of Revo??
Thanks
