Weird Revolution ... it's a mag(nifty)ic guess!

Maybe I just completely lost it or missed it or I am only blind and don’t know it yet, but have a look yourself and tell me if this is how it has to be ... it’s a good "guess what button or ... guess what field ... or guess all" game!

Besides, what’s the story about getting all these install errors, yet, install is completed at the end anyway ... just another guess, I guess
Was it installed, really, or was it installed with errors, is the "installation completed" messages an error itself because the error during the installation wouldn’t complete the installation? What is really going on?

Strange happening, maybe it’s all magic-game?!
Installed on IMac 16.2 Snow Leopard using MAMP

What’s your PHP version? MySQL client and server version? Browser? OS? We’ll need a lot more info...

Are you running eAccelerator?

BTW, in case you’re curious, I think your screenshots look completely normal except for the missing language (Lexicon) strings. The fact that they are missing from the profile for the default admin user suggests that they were also missing during the install itself.

Not stupid questions at all, but I’m afraid I don’t have any good answers for you. I don’t know why MODx itself didn’t detect the missing Lexicon during the install. Because there are so many different installation environments and settings, it’s almost impossible to perform all the tests necessary to make sure there is a good error message when weird and unlikely stuff happens. AFAIK, no one else has reported what you saw so it’s definitely rare.

Revolution is definitely a Beta version and is currently not recommended for live sites (although several people are using it on them).

If you are new to MODx, you might rather install MODx Evolution.

There’s nothing outside the MODx directories, but you’ll want to drop all the tables in the MODx DB before installing Evolution.

Hi, i noticed that with APC turned on the installation returns with a lot of errors. Turning it off for the install worked for me.

Were these errors about finding the xPDO class or xPDOCriteria class? If so, that bug has been fixed already in SVN (was still using PHP 4-style constructors which APC does not like apparently) and will be available in the RC1 release.

there shoud be something like this in your php.ini

extension = "apc.so"
apc.enabled = 1


here you can turn apc off bei setting apc.enabled = 0

This same thing happened with Ditto 3.

I found that the lexicon entries had been removed and simply needed to be reinstalled.

Bob may be correct, in that all of the files had not been uploaded.
