Ignore install mysql check

Hello there

I want to check out MODx Revolution on my mediatemple grid. But i couldn’t install because of

Checking MySQL client version: Failed! - You are running on MySQL 4.1.11, and MODx Revolution requires MySQL 4.1.20 or later. Please upgrade MySQL to at least 4.1.20.

I’m sure, that’s not the correct mysql version which modx detected. So I know I’m running a newer and but couldn’t forward through the install process.
I read different posts about that issue and know, It can depend on different versions of php5 mysql packages and mysql package.

However, it’s very annoying and my question is, whether I could do something to let modx ignore this error so I could continue the install?

Thanks for the answer. Looks like a good workaround. The question is: Why happens this error only in revolution and would it not be possible, to solve that the same way as evolutions does?
