are you saying your php version affects/determines your mysql client?
that don’t sound right.
I know it doesn’t make sense, and I stated that clearly in my post, but that’s what seems to happen in Wampserver. I don’t know a lot about how server and client versions work, and I wouldn’t have thought PHP would affect this, but it seems to do in this case. I think it definitely has something to do with how they do their build which PHP version supports which client. They may have several clients installed and the version of PHP they build each instance with supports different clients. I honestly don’t know, as I stated in my post
