[SOLVED] "Test database server connection and view collations." always valid.

while trying to setup revolution beta 5 when i get to the database setup screen when i click "Test database server connection and view collations." it always passes, even if every field is blank.

whether i put in valid info or not you cannot proceed past part 2, clicking "Create or test selection of your database." has no action. any input? i was able to get into the install earlier on a different server, i just uploaded the same codebase.

You’ll need to provide some insight in the form of environment details for us to diagnose anything from this...

i know it’s php 5.1.6, MySQL client version: 5.0.82sp1, cent os(not sure version # - looking up), and apache 2.0... any other specifics you would need?

5.1.6 has PDO issues, and therefore will not properly run MODx Revolution.

oh wow, i feel like an idiot now. i read that page today, i got my mysql and php versions mixed up (5.0.51 vs. 5.1.6). thank you.

coming up with so many version troubles today, my personal server has mysql 4.1.11 (too old), and now my work server is running php 5.1.6 (incompatible)... looks like no revolutions for me today.
