PHP upgrade

My VPS (CentOS) has PHP 5.2.5

I see you recommend 5.3:

Version 5.3.1 was released last month.

I’m going to upgrade my PHP in preperation for installing Revo.

Do you recommend 5.3 or 5.3.1?

Any other things I should look at while I’m at it?

I’m using MySQL 5.0.85-community and Apache 2.2.9. Cool? I see 2.2.14 is latest (October, 2009)

Definitely 5.3.1 if you are moving to 5.3.x. You could also upgrade to the latest 5.2.x release. The rest should be fine.

I upgraded to PHP 5.3.1 and Apache 2.2.14 while I was in the upgrade-mood.

If an RC is coming in the next week-or-so, I’d rather wait and get the latest code.

Any insight there?

Probably not going to be that soon; the final beta was a little behind schedule so it likely will be a month, possibly longer before RC1 is ready. There is quite a bit left to do...

Thanks for the heads up. Especially since folks usually seem reluctant to discuss dates.

I will familiarze myself with your documentation.

Better to release a stable product later than a buggy product earlier. People will return to a restaurant where the food is slow-coming, but not to one where the food is bad. Leaves a bad taste.
